Fabrikanterne: Shop + Studio

I happened upon the grand opening of this shop and workspace on Facebook some months back. The concept had me curious so I showed up at the grand opening in September and was glad I did. is a mixed space of store front and studios. God Jul fra Den Gamle By

I recently revisited Den Gamle By, a park full of historical homes and structures relocated from all over Denmark. Here guests can see what life was like from the 1700’s through the 1970’s. Walking through homes to see details of life is of course one of my favorite things. Furniture, technology, accessories, costumes… How people lived and live is so interesting and partly why I love textiles and furnishings so much.   Here are a few pics from the morning- God Jul!

Vintage Sari Bracelets

I recently picked up a couple of vintage saris from India. I chose two with my favorite color- teal/turquoise. When I got them, I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with them, but felt inspired. Inspiration came by way of a workshop I attended by the amazing Amy Butler while at the Chateau Getaway this summer. I wanted to recreate that experience, while putting my own twist on the project. There were all of these sewn together bits that I couldn’t toss. One day I []

I made this.

This summer at the Chateau Getaway with French General and Amy Butler I started a textile necklace. Amy led us in a couple of fantastic textile projects. Making jewelry from fabric being one of them.   It was a dream situation. Over a dozen women just creating & inspiring. I relished the company and  creative flow of the group. Here I used materials, feather charms from outdated jewelry, wood beads, turquoise bead, and  a fleur de lis button from French General, and a brass []

Chateau Getaway 2015: The Final Day

The last supper at the Chateau… After spending the day packing and playing in the workshop we had a farewell dinner where we would all wear our Woad dyed clothes for photos. We had dinner in front of the Chateau. The staff dressed the table and set out wine and bubbles. We were all afraid to talk much about it being our last night. Below you will see me in my blue dyed tunic with Kaari from French General and Amy (Amy []
